ENPF Recognises Law Enforcement and Prosecutors for Advancing Compliance and Protecting Workers’ Savings

The Eswatini National Provident Fund (ENPF) has continued strengthening its collaboration with key stakeholders through its ongoing stakeholder recognition programme aimed at appreciating institutions and individuals contributing towards the protection of workers’ retirement savings in Eswatini.

As part of the initiative, ENPF recognised the Royal Eswatini Police Services National Commissioner (NATCOM), the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), and five Crown Prosecutors who work closely with Lidlelantfongeni team in handling cases of non-compliance.

The recognition acknowledged the critical role played by law enforcement authorities and prosecutors in ensuring that employers comply with laws governing employee registration, filing, and remittance of contributions to the Fund.

ENPF highlighted the strong working relationship it continues to maintain with the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) and the Office of the DPP, noting that their cooperation has been instrumental in advancing reported cases and promoting accountability among employers.

The Fund also acknowledged some of the challenges often encountered during enforcement processes, including delays in serving summons and instances where employers deliberately evade the law. Despite these challenges, ENPF emphasised the importance of maintaining collective commitment and strengthening cooperation in order to safeguard workers’ rights and future security.

During the programme, ENPF reiterated that every prosecution and enforcement action sends a strong message that non-compliance will not be tolerated and that the law exists to protect workers and their families.

The Fund further encouraged workers to actively monitor their contributions and report cases where deductions made by employers do not reflect on their ENPF records. Employers operating within the law were also encouraged to report unfair business practices that undermine compliance and lawful competition.

In reinforcing its compliance drive, ENPF announced a voluntary compliance window for employers who have not yet regularised their affairs with the Fund. Employers have been encouraged to come forward before 30 June 2026 to update their registration and contribution records.

ENPF warned that following the deadline, a full nationwide enforcement programme will be implemented without exception against non-compliant employers.

The Fund further reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening coordination, improving information sharing, and supporting enforcement processes within the framework of the law.

The stakeholder recognition programme forms part of ENPF’s broader efforts to build stronger partnerships with key institutions, promote accountability, and ensure the protection of workers’ retirement savings across Eswatini.
