Lidlelantfongeni continues with its rollout of member engagement and education sessions aimed at capacitating members on the proposed conversion from a Provident Fund to a Pension Fund under the proposed Eswatini National Pension Fund Bill, 2025.
The latest engagement session was held in Nhlangano on saturday May 9, 2026, bringing together more than 50 members of the Amalgamated Trade Union of Swaziland (ATUSWA), who attended to gain a deeper understanding of the proposed changes and their implications.
Opening the session, Lidlelantfongeni Service Centre Manager Cabangile Dlamini provided members with an overview of the current Provident Fund structure, outlining the services available to members, benefits offered by the fund, and the role the institution continues to play in supporting workers and their families.
The session was followed by a detailed presentation from Conversion Specialist Micah Nkabinde, who unpacked the proposed conversion process and clarified key provisions contained in the Eswatini National Pension Fund Bill, 2025. His presentation covered critical areas including membership, contributions, applications, and other provisions that members need to understand as the proposed transition progresses.
Members were also afforded an opportunity to engage directly with facilitators through questions and discussions, creating an interactive platform that promoted transparency and understanding.
The engagement forms part of Lidlelantfongeni’s commitment to ensuring that all members are adequately informed and empowered with accurate information regarding the proposed conversion process. Through these education sessions, the organisation continues to promote member awareness, engagement, and informed participation throughout the proposed transition journey.
